EIASM Privacy Statement

(revised May 2018)

The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation – a legal framework that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the European Union (EU) – is in effect as of May 25, 2018. The GDPR is intended to provide better protection for the EU citizen’s privacy and to lay down uniform rules so that the citizen gains more control over how his/her personal data are used.

In view of the above, the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) has updated its privacy policy, which sets out how EIASM uses and protects any information that individuals may provide when visiting its website. EIASM is strongly committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.

  1. How we use cookies on eiasm.org

A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer by the user's web browser while the user is using the internet. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to retain relevant information (such as items added to a shopping cart in an online store) or to record the user's browsing activity (including clicking certain buttons, logging in, or recording which pages were visited in the past).

The EIASM server collects anonymous information, such as the IP address of your computer, the browser software used, the operating system, access times, and pages visited. A cookie in no way gives EIASM access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. However, please be aware that declining cookies may prevent you from interacting with the EIASM website and/or disable full access to information available on the EIASM website.

  1. Links to other websites

The EIASM website contains links to other websites of interest. As EIASM does not have any control over these other websites, it cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information that you may provide while browsing those sites since those websites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should therefore exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.
